1 year review of ok2 IPTV - Canada

So far, ok2 has been very good, reliable IPTV service for Canadian channels only. I've noticed that a lot of the u.s. channels are down or Loop a lot or give a satellite weak signal message.

To name some channels:

CP24 and City pulse HD works, Omni 1 and Omni 2 global work, CTV is in 480p, CBC doesn't work, CTV Halifax is down, fox hd works, major screen artifacting and audio issues on ABC HD West, CBS HD West is down, cw11 HD West is down, CBC Calgary work, CTV Calgary work, bc1 HD is down, Global BC HD works, CTV Vancouver HD work, CTV to Vancouver HD work, City Vancouver HD work, CBC Vancouver works, The Game Show Network HD work, TV Land works, me TV HD works but it's stretched picture, FX HD and FXX HD both work butt have stretch video, Comedy Network HD work, TBS HD works, Paramount Network HD works but has stretch video or distorted video, Discovery Channel Canada and USA both work, Smithsonian HD is down, love nature HD is down, history HD has looping video and audio distortion, life HD is down, IFC HD is working, TLC HD is working, DIY HD work, National Geographic HD work, Animal Planet work, food TV HD work, Vice land Works in HD, AMC HD is down, HDTV HD Canada and USA are down, Peachtree TV HD is working, Space HD is working, TNT HD is down, slice HD is working, W Network HD is working, showcase HD is down, any HD is working o w n HD is working, Travel HD is down, Treehouse TV is working, why TV Canada's down, TVO Ontario is working, Nickelodeon TV is working

Most of the adult content works has a fair degree of Japanese adult videos if you're into that. No content for the lbgt community unfortunately.

There's a lot of content for Multicultural communities as well including Tamil, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Russian, Chinese, British, Irish, Bengali, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German, Etc

The video Club has a lot of good selection for kids but most of the Hollywood stuff and action movies doesn't work and the searching feature doesn't work and I have seen the EPG not load the right information sometimes but for the most part it does work properly.

Channels that do go down often say would be the FIFA abs UFC channels this coming 2008 in Russia, but ESPN and TSN both work rock-solid. this IPTV provider doesn't seem to have a Kodi plugin as well. As far as I know it's $100 a year per Mac address.

I have noticed the portal lock up on my mag254 often, so I have to reboot my device very often to get it to load. There is constant portal maintenance during the day or at night and I feel like the service for the most part is working for the basic stuff but I wouldn't be comfortable inviting some friends over to say watch the UFC fight or a hockey or football game, so the fact that I only paid $100 a year for this is a good deal for me but I have seen some people on forums on Reddit and pay up to 10 to $15 a month for this.

Oh no I'm pretty happy with this. but that's only good because I paid next to nothing for it

6 week review of Steadfast hosting

a few weeks ago there was a review of steadfast hosting but it seems to have disappeared so i will submit my brief review. I am based in Philippines which is about as far away as you can get from either US or USA servers, I have 100Mbps fibre up and down with an ISP that is basically a crap shoot ( always changing routing)

This is my 5th iptv provider and hopefully my last as I am tired of trying this and that and always ending up with buffering, outages etc The streaming part of it has been excellent for the fist 5 weeks but then I suffered an outage which was due to my ISP changing the routing.. since then the guys at steadfast have put me on a different server and it again is working very good.. buffering is almost non existent even on the FHD channels. ( of which there are many) They have their own APK which is similar to all the other providers and offers recording and they also have a good catchup service. They also have a Kodi addon but as at time of writing they have no EPG for Kodi but have told me it wont be long before it is implemented Customer service is second to none the main man who runs the show is probably the most helpful person I have come across in the iptv world.. I think he runs the show by himself so obviously needs sleep and time off but normally responds almost immediately and gets things fixed as soon as humanly possible Channel line up is very good all major US UK channels MLB NHL NFL Australian, Irish and as mentioned many in FHD. Large selection of Movies and TV shows of which every one I have tried loads and plays well/ Pricing is really good 3.50 pounds a month or 15 pounds for 6 months for 2 devices The website needs some polishing up with no information in the knowledgebase on how to install on various devices They have a telegram group https://t.me/joinchat/HtImNU6W41uRHV_iKU79Iw There website is https://steadfasthosting.co.uk/billing/index.php Get a trial and see how it goes Disclaimer: I am just an end user and in no way affiliated with steadfast hosting

Twisted TV - 2 Week Review (US based)

Spoiler Alert - Been testing through a few stinkers (if the streams aren't stable I won't even bother investing the testing time to do a review) lately before Twisted TV, and was feeling comfortable enough with the results thus far to put this out earlier then i usually do.

BACKROUND

This review is based solely on the use of US and sports channels over a 2+ week period. That's all I watch or personally care about, and didn't bother either using or testing any of the other language content that is offered. So as always, anything below is a direct reflection on that specific experience.

Twisted TV was run on both the APK and a fresh install of Kodi 17.6 with no backround addons other then using Ares Wizard to set my advanced settings. Internet speeds generally tested out at 75mbps+ with IPVanish running in the backround, and on a wired connection through my 2017 Nvidia Shield. While I don't consider myself Mr. Tech or anything, I am confident in my researching/tinkering ability enough that any trouble shooting done was both accurate and with every possibility exhausted to best isolate any non-Twisted TV issue. All in all I'd estimate that this review is based on roughly 75 hours of use.

SETUP/CUSTOMER SERVICE

Setup is standard as far as a Kodi install goes, from their own add source repo. Same goes for the APK, which was a simple matter of downloading it (or to note, an alternate skinned version they offer and which i found cooler looking) through an APK installer like Downloader and then inputing your log in info.

Customer service is pretty solid, with their own Discord chat for install/channel help. Never popped in there without a mod being around to respond, and who were always looking to be helpful or actively watching for any downed channel reports (turn around time on those seemed pretty solid as well). I'll score the direct seller 28statemedia that I got it from here extra points as well for always replying to every random question I had in a very timely manner as well.

EPG

Population factor was good in both the APK/Kodi, and the listings were usually there for anything that is typically expected in IPTV to have one. However, and as another provider that's using the same APK and basic kodi install as almost everybody else...same ol same ol drill on layout. Personally, I'm not a fan at all of using that Smarter APK to channel surf (Twisted TV's scrolling is a tad clunkier then other Smarter ones at that btw), and the Kodi experience is bogged down by a 1+ minute load up time even on my Nvidia Shield and lack of an option to filter out channel groups. MLB channel group listing is also frequently wrong as well, requiring you to click through a few channels to find the actual game you want to watch.

Granted, I need 2 fingers to count the other providers out there I can't make these same exact EPG nitpicks on, and one of which comes with a constant stream of back end problems. But yeah...gonna keep doing it anyway. The EPG experience matters, and a subpar experience shouldn't be nearly as standard as it has become in IPTV nowadays.

Plus side there is an option to turn off the channel groups in the APK, and there is a ton of them (38 total to be exact) you don't want to see by going into the Parental Control settings. Which is always a nice feature, especially if/when you really want to "dumb down" a setup. For example, my mother really like the one total channel group setup, where it's really hard for her to "accidentally" end up clicking into somewhere she wasn't intending to go.

CHANNELS/QUALITY

Twisted TV's US channel selection is pretty par from the course and what you'd expect out of any IPTV service nowadays, and any of which can be favorited in the APK. What they excel at though, and where every other provider attempt I've tested has ultimately failed, is the offering of additional backup feeds on a lot channels. That you know...actually still work if/when the other one is down. Major points scored here for this, as I never found myself without a completely working feed of something I wanted to watch during my testing. They also offer a solid offering of regional channels as well (some 60fps found in here too btw).

HD picture quality was one of the better ones I've tested, and as a comparative example on par with Vader Streams. Lots of 60 fps streams scattered about, especially on the more popular channels, even if immediately identifying which of the multiple feed options it was being offered was never obvious without watching it first. For my own primary 60fps needs - ESPN check, FS1 check, and working feeds of my Red Sox games were usually covered. On the lower end note, I never ran across any SD feeds that I can readily recall in my surfing around either.

The above said, the channel grouping could use some work though. For starters they surprising don't have a movie channel group...which should be standard inclusion stuff and honestly kind of an WTF fail imo. Both USA and MLB extra innings as another example have 2 separate groups, which led to a lot more "find the good link" clicking around then i wanted sometimes when walking in the door and just wanting to flip the show/game on.

STABILITY

Aided by the backup channels I'd rate Twisted Tv's stability/reliability as notable above IPTV average. Probably a slight upgrade to my Eternal TV sub right now if I was to make a direct comparison, and which I honestly haven't used one time since I started testing Twisted TV. As already noted above I always found a feed that worked during my testing, and even random buffering once I did was pretty dang rare. I tested one PPV which was UFC 226, which had 2 HD feeds up and played out extremely well on the only one I tried. Only 2 random and momentary buffers all night.

The APK also notable offers an option to switch the base player between VLC and MX Player, and which I always like to see.

FEATURES/VALUE

VOD - A somewhat decent overall selection of movies/shows is indeed present, but as always in this part I'm going to point out how mostly pointless I find that stuff to be. There are a ton of movie/show kodi addons and APK nowadays where you can get that stuff easily enough (not to mention always find uploaded faster) without paying out a dime to your IPTV provider, and which don't come with the accompanying risk of that 1 particular link not working either.

That said, I am going to score them a usually non-existent "something I can't readily find on Kodi/Terrarium" VOD point here for actually posting the UFC 226 VOD up in a fairly timely manner, which was about 3 or so hours after it ended. As a somebody who usually works Saterday nights and upon getting home has to avoid all social media and browser home pages until a working link is found...it was a rare score to see that as I'm sure other big UFC fans out there can relate to. If you are going to VOD something like that quick upload times there is everything - knowing who won the big fight while watching the replay basically puts a huge downer on the whole thing. Unfortunately though, they don't make the same timely effort on their WWE Raw and Smackdown uploads.

RADIO/MUSIC VIDEO FEEDS/LIVE CAMS - About 200 or so total. Not really my thing, but most seemed to play when clicking on them in my testing if it happens to be your's.

24/7 CHANNELS - Again not my thing, but there is over 200 total and which all seemed to be working when I did a quick test look.

ADULT CHANNELS - Including this here because every time I've tested them on another service they were pretty unreliable at best, and more typically a buffering/stuttering mess. Twisted TV's 22 total were the first I've seen that were actually fairly stable as a whole.

Additional Connections - At the time of this review 28statemedia has informed me he's willing to match Eternal TV's 5 connections for $10 price tag with no geo lock here on reddit, and which obviously is one of the best surface value price tags out there. Enough so that I was even willingly to mostly overlook the complete lack of a catchup feature, and which of course is notably absent from their feature list.

CONCLUSSION

If I was handing out a "best IPTV provider you've probably never tried or heard of" reddit award, Twisted TV would be my pick atm. In fact with the successful implantation of backup channel feeds, plus a rare and healthy offering of 60 fps offerings, I'd rank it as currently out-performing quite a few of the more universally recommended staple providers here that get routinely pushed on familiar name value alone (that and a lot of reseller investment interest, obviously). I'd probably have even put it down as a comparable BUY at the $10 for one connection rate before he decided to match Eternal's price. So at 5 connections for $10 it's pretty much a no brainer look imo. Definitely a great staying ahead of the masses streaming experience to be found in this one atm (fun fact - pirated servers getting too popular and heavily recommended/sold is ultimately never a good thing for *your* end), and at worst my new current pick as an extremely ideal service to be carrying around as the backup I strongly recommend people have regardless.

Of course, how their own servers hold up after the huge push it no doubt deserves is always open to future question. So like everything else I also recommend going month-to-month on any potential purchase.

Also to note, the 5 connections for $10 is a new permanent pricing structure exclusive to people on reddit, aimed at being competitive to what else is being sold here. It is not being openly offered anywhere else, and not every reseller of the service is charging their current customers that rate. So keeping that in mind and with respect to current customers who bought an account before this deal was being offered, Twisted TV would appreciate it not being openly mentioned in their Discord chat. For the 5/$10 price you have either private message 28statemedia here on reddit, or to twisted28 in the Discord.

Vader Streams: Big Disappointment

I had Vader Streams recommended after NTV shut down - and bought a month ... I must say it has been a huge disappointment:

  • Loads of channels are missing at all times
  • The depth of channels is very low meaning that i have usually had to go to a web-based streaming site for events aside from the very biggest ones (you can find streams for say the WC and Formula 1 races, but anything below that is usually lacking)
  • The kodi plugin is just terrible. The channels have numbers instead of names so you have to run several streams before finding the language you want

I have let Vader Streams expire and will be looking for an alternative that at least performs better than what i can find on livetv.sx and firstrow ...

Helix IPTV Review: Good low price provider

Tried Helix over the Weekend. Overal seems pretty good.

Starting with the negatives. VOD - Way too many. Needs a better organization scheme. I tried loading their trial service on Smart IPTV and it crashed it and could not get it up. After talking to their support, it Turns out SmartIPTV limitation that cannot handle all the VOD. Support removed the VOD and it worked well. I wish Helix focused on quality rather than quantity. Grade: C That being said I got Terriam and Kodi w/Real Debrid so not having the VOD was not a big deal.

PACKAGES: I really like how they broke out their packages, some providers like to break out sports and entertainment under different packages but honestly, that never really fit with me. Sometimes I want to watch sports and sometimes I want to watch entertainment. They had a UK Helix at £4 which is really amazing to tell you the truth. I get all the UK channels sports, news entertainment. That fits well with me and great my mum who might be overwhelmed by too many channels. This package has NO VOD which makes it good. I went with a separate UK package for me and my parents.
I believe they got their £4 CA/US package which might be good for people form the US/CA Both come with PPV and soccer. They also got Single (UK/US/CA) , Double (+ International) and triple (+xxx) to fit other needs. I am happy with the £4 package. Honestly I like this the most about them the packages. Grade: A

STREAMS: Most channels are of hq quality. I did get a buffer once and a while, when I ticketed them they fixed it quickly. BT and SKY sports have multi versions each Popular channels have backups Seems good. Grade: B+

SUPPORT: I several a ticket and they usually answered within a couple of hours. It’s not as fast as some of the others I seen but I understand their prices might not justify it. Can’t complain for £4. Grade: B

VALUE: I think they excel here. It is not as expensive and is one of the cheapest. They work well and I am happy with them. GRADE: A

OVERALL: I think they are relatively new and so far they seem very good. I am problaby going to cancel my other service and stick with the £4 UK Helix. Recommendation: BUY

BoomTv Review

First let me start with this BoomTv is AWESOME and the people are wonderful.
I ended up with BoomTv after RoyaltyTV boned me, Roy took off with my payment and no services then sent me to Boom saying it was their problem. BoomTv explained Roy was signing up people for BoomTv and keeping the cash but STILL honored the deal, it is a brand new service, but has been stable and growing content nearly daily. As things grow they update the EPG, and keep everything neat, nice and working extremely well. I have had trials with over 2 dozen providers including Vader and I feel this is the one to watch.

Vader - Oh deary me

It’s day 2 of my Vader month and August can not come fast enough. Grabbed a month from a Canadian reseller , some chap called Colin appears to ‘run’ this ‘quality’ setup

For anyone thinking about Vader I will give a brief review

Picture quality is just ok, had epic last month and they are head and shoulders better with more FHD and good old HD. Lots of UK channels not even offered in HD. Epic is far from perfect with tons of buffering and channels simply never firing up but I’ll be back there in a month

The real annoyance is channels simply dropping out ever 10 minutes or so. No buffering, the screen simply goes black and I have to select another channel then go back to the channel I was originally watching. Wife’s apoplectic about it and simply took the remote and went back to our regular tv provider to watch some Canadian junk.

I have a 300mb wired fiber op connection into a Formuler z7+.

Reached out to good ol Colin 12 hours ago but nothing back yet!, I’m guessing he’s working diligently on fixing the ‘service’

All I want is good picture quality for full offering of UK channels and a fairly stable service

WSSPremuim Trial Review

So I was asking around for providers that have the BeIN Sports Max Arabic channels and I found about WSSPremuim, contacted them and they gave me a free 48hrs trial. Overall communication was good. Here are my thoughts:

First off I was able to watch the Croatia vs. Denmark match yesterday perfectly with very little buffering and great picture quality. Then things turned bad..... today the matches were unwatchable due to buffering. All the BeIN and their backups were unwatchable and other German (e.g. ZDF) and UK channels airing the match were not working too.

For 14 dollars I thought this service will be worth it, but it turns out it's almost like your watching a free iptv app. Zero stability.

The search for a provider with stable Arabic BeIN channels continues....any help?

Shack Sytems honestly

shacksystems has the worst customer service imaginable. Maybe that just goes with the territory, idk...

I will say that it's pretty stable. You will have a ok experience as long as you do not place any tickets. It's also not uncommon for them to take from you and cancel your service. any suggestions of better services?

Vader streams review from a former settv subscriber.

Was a setTV subscriber until a few weeks ago when they shut down. I was happy with set TV although picture quality wasn't the greatest it served it's purpose well. setTV was reliable, the app worked flawlessly and happily paid $20 a month for it.

I was sad when set TV shut down, I started searching for an alternative. Seeing a lot of people talking about Vader on reddit I chose to give this a try first and give it a go.

#Vader Streams

I was bored at home, looking to watch a baseball game so I signed up for Vader streams. Was sad to find out after sign up that it took up to 24 hours (usually takes much less time than that according to confirmation page) to activate service. Bummer. Maybe it'll be only a short time. Well, it took about 20 hours to finally get activation email.

So the next day I finally was able to log in to Vader streams. I'm using fire stick apk app.

First thing I noticed was that things were kinda slow to load. Maybe I was spoiled by settv but the little spiny seemed to take a bit.

#picture quality

Most of the channels I'll say are much higher quality than set TV was, so far so good. They look like high def resolution where set TV I would complain often about picture quality.

#few days in

So after a few days of use here's some bad/annoying stuff I'll make remarks on. Watching some channels I'll get some error messages that pop up on the screen saying server unavailable, try again later or something to that extent (can't remember exact terminology) but the TV show remains on in the background. (ok, if it's unavailable how come the live TV show is still on?) so I click the ok button and it kicks me back to the main menu. I click live TV button and the circle just spins and spins and spins. I have to restart the firestick to get back into live TV again.

This has happens every few hours and is super annoying.

#android phone apk

Could never get this to work on Android. The spinny loading thing never went away. Tried on wifi and on 4g, couldn't get in using either.

Tried a few different times with the last time just failing to recognize my username and password (failed to login).

#conclusion

For $15 a month, I'm not sure if this is what I should be expecting from an iptv service or if this is a bad service. I'm anxious to hear others feedback, if I'm just being picky or if this is the norm with these types of services. As is stands now I'll most likely cancel this service and try a different one next month to see if that's any better. I do like the picture quality but the server errors and inability to use on mobile are major negatives for me.

Thanks for reading.
