I felt the same too. Apparently its a new thing. Scared to use my own credit card I opted to go out and purchase a Visa Gift Card and used that instead to protect me and my credit. It appeared to be legitimate thing from I can find online but to this day I'm still a bit nervous after the fact but you're suppose to do it just that once which I know is only a small assurance. But after all that, I managed to extend my subscription in the end
