Proton IPTV Review

by Bob_Loblaw007

Currently trying Proton IPTV for the next 3 days. Trial cost me $2.50 US. Using an NVidia Shield with a clean cache file and restart, directly connected to the net with Cat6, 60Mbps service. CP24 news and both Investigation Discovery channels are buffering constantly. I'm not impressed. I'll update in the next few days. I've tried with PIA VPN on and off. Same results so far. One more thing. I'm trying their "Electron" service.

I have tried Atom, it’s actually worse for me then proton or electron. Support is fast, and helpful, but buffering is just killing it all.

Did you contact them to see if there were issues on the server end? Also did you try other things you can do to see if it is your setup? Reboot modem, router etc.

Who was your reseller?

Try Protons actual Proton service. It’s solid. I tried electron and moved on too. (You should exit the title of this thread to “electron review”).

I ditched there electron service for their neutron service, its alot better IMO.

Day 2. They respond to service requests but ask me questions that I've clearly stated in my posts to them. They stated that they had heard of issues like mine in the SW states. I'm in the north but whatever. So OK. You're aware of the problem. Can you fix it? Is it out of your hands? Are you working on it???? I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm done with this service. They can't fix the buffering.

Channels will have issues from time to time of any Provider. NONE can provide buffer free service on every channel 24/7.

Some are easy fix, some are not. You only mentioned two streams. What about the others?

Hi Bob. You are talking about our Electron service which underwent a massive server upgrade when you happened to get your trial. There is only so much I can do as a reseller, unfortunately.

I do recommend you try our new Atom service as I thi k you'll find it quite stable.

Maybe it’s your ISP, I’ve moved to a lesser known one and get 55mb (the same as when I was with the biggest ISP in the uk) and I’ve had no issue, no buffering and I can watch EPL without a VPN

I'm not saying anything about this service but I see everyone complaining about buffering. I bet they have no clue you can switch and test different decoders that would stop the buffering completely. Every device is different Aswell as streams. my android box I can run auto decoder and have no problems but my firestick I have to set it to hardware and on certain UHD channels I have to set it to software just for those channels and buffering dissapears and channel zapping is quick
