BEAST IPTV Review - 1 month sub - painful if you're into Canadian sports

by yourboyfriend

i went with BEAST ( https://www.thebeast.tv/ ) based on recommendations posted here for a good CAN/USA provider.

PROS: generally pretty good for general interest programming (food network, A&E, etc)

CONS: virtually every canadian sports channel (all the TSNs, and SPORTSNETS) buffer. the BT SPORTS feed also sucks. there were few days i tried to watch hockey, basketball, tennis (hell, even curling) - where the feeds did not buffer. and no - it had nothing to do with my internet as other channels worked without issue.

Same here, opted for Beast following the positive reviews on r/iptvreviews and was extremely disappointed for a number of reasons:

  • UK based sport channels, particularly soccer or football was awful and hard to find in the list
  • no VOD
  • generally, it’s not well organised and you have to scroll down to find what it is you are after

Won’t be renewing my month sub

Oc3lot409

I’m a new sub to Beast and agree with everything you said. Also, there are some wrong Canadian channels. Saw that they were working on their catch-up. Hoping it’s soon because it’s lacking right now.

Bought a month 2 days ago... Yesterday was a complete fail.. Almost all channels buffer.. Tried this morning everything was smooth... Probably on rush hours the servers can't handle all the people connecting.. For now it's more a no than a yes

Prometheus304

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. It is an absolute pain if you are in to sports. I cancelled it after my first month.

sionnach

Agreed. Just want sport but I've found it lacking. Have already cancelled the recurring payment.

I don't want thousands of channels. I don't want VOD. I just want good sports coverage.

aybesea

I have Beast, I am a sports junkie, and I have pretty much zero problems.

poeticmichael

Beast.tv is the beast of buffering! Don't waste your time on this. Each time I attempted watching sports on this ended up in absolute frustration. Bought Smoothstreams for sports and can't be happier.

I also agree. I switched from Gears TV to Beast. Mainly because they offer 3 connections for 15 bucks as opposed to Gears' 1 connection for 20. But you get what you pay for. So much buffering. Then they killed the VOD section. Yeah yeah, I know, there are apps for that. But still, the VOD was one of the things that attracted me to the service for some of my relatives who are older users. Looks like I'm gonna be going back to Gears. Still the best service I've used so far. Hands down.

Tested Beast with a free trial a month or so ago,, was connected to their discord group and mentioned using beast with a VPN and they spazzed out on me, banned me. I noticed they were always discussing and making a plethora of excuses on discord why there were so many "outages" and other fuck-ups with their service

Needless to say, they have obviously dropped the ball in the iptv world and now have an inferior product they're trying to flog everywhere.

les_rallizes_denudes

I also love how they label 1080p channels as UHD

skeetz77

Dont goto sportsnet or tsn for hockey games. Instead goto the nhl channels. Better results.

BacalaMuntoni

It was great then they over sold now shit happens to all of them

docwho10th

I'm in the states and posted a positive review for Beast. No buffering on my end. I also clean out the cache on my Shield and reboot my router every week. All PPv's have been non buffer. Are you guys in the states or UK? That could be an issue.

gurjisolo

Hard to find a provider that has decent Canadian channels, idk who to try now.

skinnykid108

I'm in the US and like the sports channels. Every now and then you get the buffer on certain channels. no biggie though

Greencon10

4 Hours and this thread is still up and showing? One or 2 more and that will be a record for a negative Beast experience ;)

Although in all fairness too this review does lack a lot of detail.

murpha888

Also have Beast but cancelling buffering issues and lost VOD new releases. Yeah I know VOD but we really liked it as a family. Can somebody recommend a different options that has new release movies

leafsby2

Agreed beast is trash, I couldn’t wait for my month to be over before I purchased another sub from another provider.

I also watch Canadian sports they in fact did buffer, tried to watch catchup once would load past 2:36 into the show, I pay $5 for a backup sub and its hands down more solid than beast could ever be.

atticus_roark

Agree with you. I was with beast too for I think two months. Had enough of buffering and crapoy epg. Went with dream streams yesterday. So much better!

badleaders

I tested there 48 hours of the beasttv and most of the channels buffers specially the sport ones ! am also testing 1 week iptv007 did not face any serious buffer yet , after my 48 hours of the beast and the 1 week of iptv007 ends i will give you a full review comparing these 2 .

FlawlessDeadPixel

I’ve had Beast for a month now and had zero problems. I only watch sports. US & UK. EPG was never a problem for me as Tivi mate is great 👌. 0 buffering or issues with any channels.

black_labels

I recently subscribed to dreamstreams.tv Tons of Canadian sports available and I haven’t had a single channel buffer yet. Free 24 hour trial available too.

DJBurne

I have no issues with Beast. There is occasional buffering but otherwise very happy with the channels. Watch NHL, MLB, Sky Sports, US Sports and Canadian Sportsnet &TSN.

If you are using a VPN make sure your app isn’t throttling your connection. Nord VPN and Astrill VPN are great, use a private ip close to where you are located.

Cheers

nosar77

I have Beast and its been great! Very little buffering 🤷🏾‍♂️

Franzassisi

Any recommendations for a European service? Thanks!

DeadGuru

Very similar to the comment above. I read reviews and it was 50/50 from some people. I personally used Flawless TV over the years and loved it but they decided to close. Took me some time to find a provider and I cant fault Insight TV personally.

Can't really comment on Canadian sports and Beast as I'm neither Canadian nor watch or care about sports (other than UFC or Boxing) but I did try Beast out for a month and found it to be about a 4/10.

Just watching network tv channels, like discovery, fox, cnn or whatever, there was always this weird issue where the channel would skip back 30 seconds or so and just go into a loop over and over. Had that happen at least 20 times. The lack of VOD movies and 24/7 channels was extremely disappointing. I know there are APK's out there for movies and what not, but FFS if I'm paying $20 a month for a service at least have some movies in there, I can sub to a <$10 service for TV channels only, what am I paying the other $15 a month for?

With so many providers out there if they aren't giving at least an 8/10 service there's just no reason to keep them, will be trying some others but for now no more Beast for me.

Bronkko

I rarely have buffering issues with beast. Finding games on beast takes some work but anything ive ever wanted to watch is there, I just have to find it. I had gears before and they had lots of canadian sports. but overall beast is better imo. the only issue with beast for me is not enough streams. I have 7 sticks in the house so Im trying vader as well.. still waiting for my credentials.

chriskeens

Anyone with buffering issues that has access to an always-on PC... check out HLS-Proxy - it fixed almost all of my buffering issues on Beast

Joeyoo2

Agreed; BeastTV is trash 🗑 🚮 I found RocketStreams pretty decent for sports and Canadian. Mars Media TV is hit-or-miss with sports so unsure if I would recommend them. I believe they both still offer trials, but there is a cost associated on their websites. Although, if you send them a message then they should be able to give you a free trial.

Canmore_Beeker

I have beast and I think it’s amazing, I run it in Kodi on Fire Stick, no buffering and solid connections . I didn’t miss a single Canucks game. Check your internet speed. Also if you have problems with the service use Telegram chat and talk to the admins to fix your issues. There support is awesome.

ellmexicann

I've been using Nitro for the last few months and it's been pretty solid. IMHO I've tested Gears, Beast, Nitro & Vaders so far...and for the $15/2 connections - Nitro came out on top for me.

Gt8driver

I tried Beast and had alot of buffering issues. I recently switched to www.offthehookstreams.live and have had no down time and no buffering so far. Pretty good service with over 3500 channels

Sunman24

Try Apolloiptv unbelievable smooth service fantastic movie and Vod collection best iv seen iv tried a lot of Iptv's for me apollo is top of the list

PrincessHard

Yooo could I too have a trial, in the market looking for a subscription. Thanks

Canmore_Beeker

Wow , I totally disagree. Been using beast as a Trial for 3 months and then just setup a friend with Beast for a 6 month. Sports net and NHL package is amazing. Zero buffer works great. The CBC broadcast is good but sports lags a little. I am extremely happy with the product. Huge Canucks fan haven't missed a game.

Khmaideep

I have a great alternative for Canadian sports, I'm in Toronto pm me if you want a trial.
