My Gold.Ca Experience (Don't Waste your money)

by rimmi2002

I signed up for the IPTV service GoldTV.ca . My main interest was American and Indian channels. Prior to this I used helix for 1 month and their service was nearly flawless. However helix had a limited selection for Indian channels.

I switched to GoldTV.ca . I bought a 1 year subscription because they were giving a nice discount (that was a newbie mistake on my part)

Most of the Indian channels that I watch are hit or miss. I would say the service is about average for Indian channels. Buffers every few mins.

Where goldTV.ca Really drops the ball is on American channels. In the 1 month I have been with the service, key channels like ESPN, TNT and NBA TV or NFL network Disappear from the offered channels for weeks at times. When they do work they tend to be buffer pretty regularly and audio almost never works on ESPN. I mostly watch sports channel and to make matters worse their whole sports section has not been working for the whole last week.

I am new to IP TV and was really impressed by helix and thought other services would be similar. I wish I had only done a 1 month trial prior to committing for a year. I guess lesson learned.

I hope Helix can start accepting PayPal again so I can go back to them.

Never ever pay for a one year service with iptv providers no matter how much discount they are offering. Maximum sub should be 3 months, nothing more.

Does anyone know which IPTV offers closed captioned? Thanks in advance

Friend of the family signed up a year with goldtv. It seemed ok, but I agree there are issues with buffering sometimes. Seems like goldtv is fairly popular in the toronto area, lots of resellers. Their website mentioned free trials, but apparently they don't offer them. Just didn't get a good feeling from the emails with them and moved on. Wasn't sure if the website and goldtv, are the same. Anyone know if it is?

Bought a few trials and gotten a free trial, over the past 2 weeks from resellers, still not sure which one to go with. For sure though the one bit of advice almost everyone here seems to give is, a year is too risky, stick to a month to month. Thinking about trying u-host.org or vader next. Vader seems to have mixed reviews, not really sure about the other one.
