Nvidia Shield in the living room, new Amazon Fire TV upstairs, and firesticks in the kid's bedrooms. Live in the Philly area and regularly follow all the local sporting teams here. Watch all the major Pay Per Views fights too. Only interested in what US channels a provider has to offer. Don't care much for video on demand as we use a separate free app for that. Usually just stuck to using the provider APK.
AREA 51 $5 for 1 Connection - Bought after watching a youtube review on it. Not bad at all for the cheap price but I didn't find it to be amazing among the other cheap providers out there. Basically it wasn't anything I would kick out of bed but nothing special either. Saw good and bad stretches. Would sum it up as a cheap clone attempt of Eternal TV. Basically has the same channel lineup but with a lot more instances of random buffering. Double charging me on the bill once was not cool either. Kept them for 2 months until finding something else cheap that was better.
CLEARSTRAMZ IPTV $10 for 1 Connection - Bought after watching a youtube review on it. Great trial period and first 5 days or so. Liked the US focus and channel selection. Channel grouping set up too. Unfortunately saw a decent amount of random buffering and down channels in the following weeks. Support or updates seem fairly non existent. Not bad by any stretch but nothing I saw myself re-subbing to at the end of one month.
ETERNAL TV $8 for 3 Connections - Took a while but bought this after hearing out it from a facebook friend after finally seeing it in stock. Wife's favorite one and my own go to for regular channel needs. Seems to struggle less then every one of the other providers on my list at keeping their guide info accurate. Streams are usually buffer free even while having over 3300 members in their chat. Like the US channel grouping a lot too. Wish they had better resolutions on some of the major channels and for sports but nothing is perfect. Been using it for 4 months now and plan on keeping it around.
GEARS TV $18.50 for 1 Connection - Bought this on a facebook group recommendation. Best selection of US channels I've found although without any extra backups or an extensive local network coverage. Best player app that felt a lot more like regular cable then the rest of them too. Wife and kids absolutely loved it. I didn't love the poor channel resolutions or the $35 it cost to have it run on 2 televisions at once. Kept it around for 3 months for them, but always switching to a provider that cost me a small fraction of that any time I wanted to watch my sports didn't sit well with me so I dropped it.
HELIX - $8 for 1 Connection - Bought this after reading a review here on it. Probably one of the more unpredictable providers on this list. Sees a lot of love and hate in my household. Not a big fan myself on it's live streams or playing the guessing game on when they are going to be good or bad even with a lot of high resolution in there. I do love that it has a very robust selection of auto recorded channels. Wife hates and refuses to use it because the channels she watches have a tendency to buffer or fall into repeating loops at times. Had it for 2 months now and plan to keep it around just for the auto recorded channel feature.
KODI SOLUTIONS $10 for 5 connections - Bought this when I could never find Eternal TV in stock hoping it was the same service. It was not. Basically can be summed up the same as Area 51. Not bad for a cheap option but nothing special either. Kept it for a month then moved on when I found something better.
OOLOGY $15 for 1 Connection - Bought this after finding their youtube channel and on the promise of a heavy US channel focus. Basically was curious if it was worth the extra price tag cost over other stuff I was using at the time. Solid little service with a lot of high high resolution streams. Best local channel layout I've seen. Wasn't worth that extra cost with similar services offering mostly the same thing while costing a lot less. Dropped it the following month.
PLAYERS KLUB $5 for 1 Connection - Bought this after watching a review on youtube. My first cheap provider and probably the worst one overall. Wasn't completely terrible for the backup role it served but the wife and kids would still spend a lot of time complaining about the buffering. Not going to say much more then that other then I did keep it around for 3 months early on due to the lack of wanting to spend more on any alternatives I knew of at the time.
TNT MEDIA $8 for 2 Connections - Bought this after reading a review here on it. Loved it in the beginning and was my previous go to provider. Usually was always buffer free and saw solid Pay Per View coverage. Unlike Eternal they seem to be having more of a problem with scaling though as I gradually started seeing a more and more buffering on the service as their own big chat membership continued to grow. Another would not kick it out of bed service but felt like the better days were behind it during the last month and it was time to move on. Spent 4 months using it before I let the account expire.
VADER STREAMS $15 for 5 Connections - My introduction to IPTV after going with what seemed to offer the most possible connections and be the most talked about choice. Saw a lot of love and pure hatred in my household. I liked the channel resolution and robust feature list. had it's good and bad days of buffering. The Matchcenter listing was also my favorite sports layout to date even if it tended to have it's share of bad days on the live streaming. The downtime and errors drove the wife and kids nuts to the point they would always complain about bringing the regular cable back the last couple of months we had it though. Dropped it after 5 months.
VIRTUE STREAMS $7 for 2 Connections - Bought this on a facebook recommendation. Been my go to for Sports and Pay Per Views. Usually always buffer free with more higher resolution channels then any of the other cheap providers I have tried. Like the large selection of back up channels too. Wish the guide on a few of the movie channels was more accurate at times. Been using it for 3 months now and plan on keeping it around.
You didn’t mentioned Beast and often see that referred to as the best service.
