Helix, helix hosting

When it works it’s great works about 60 percent of the time. My support ticket from today, Hello I have been experiencing severe buffering, channel closings and stream errors for the last 4 days. Generally the service works well about 70 percent of the time. I would pay twice what I currently pay if it worked 85 percent of the time. I have this problems across multiple devices, hardwired and wifi, through a router and direct connection to modem. I’ve attempted using your Kodi app, using simple player, perfect player and your web based browser. I’ve had my isp out twice, the connection is fine. Have you oversold your service or are you cutting down on expenses with your available servers? I assure you people such as myself will simply move to a more reliable service as that is the nature of IPTV. Thanks very much,

Their response was to try vlc, which I have, or reboot modem. When I have contacted support they are very polite and respond very quickly. The problem with this is the responses are generic pre composed responses to basic questions and don’t specifically address your particular issue. Hope this is helpful.

Wasn't there some fiber line cut on the east coast that caused issues for all internet connections recently?

Its been good for me overall. Very rarely get buffering on nhl/nba games but last few days have been rough in terms of buffering across most channels, catchup also simply doesnt work.

They use iptv smarters as the main app. The issue i have with it is the picture gets fuzzy with different shades of colours when watching sport. Particularly noticeable when watching nfl/soccer or anything played on grass its like it turns dark green then light green randomly. Anyone else noticed it?

Ive mainly stuck with it cos it seems to be the one for sport, nba live, nhl centre ice and the espn plus channels have been very good to me. Unless someone wants to recommend me something else to try?

Did a free trial recently and it was nice the short time it was up but mostly unusable. Either down or unwatchable streams maybe up only 30-50%. So at a minimum do a trial before you waste money and are stuck with crappy performance.

...Or try a few different services to see if you get the same result.

It's weird - I had a ton of buffering issues from them initially when I had a Mag box - switched to an Nvidia Shield, and haven't had hardly any issues.

For me 90% of the service is fantastic, and when you log a ticket they are beyond helpful. They're well worth it IMO.

I've been using HH for a few weeks now and have just started using a multi connection package. It's not the cheapest but my experience so far suggests it'll be worth it. I haven't had any trouble with the channels so far, but the big tests are the Saturday kick offs tomorrow.

They have been extremely patient and very prompt answering my dumbass questions and dealing with my general noobness.

Recommended.

There used be what looks like their spokesperson who was very active on Reddit.

He was very helpful, but for some reason he deleted his profile?

Does anybody know how to get in contact with him if he is still around?

Apart from having some unknown issue with their own app my service has been spot on. Yes there were some east coast US outages affecting a number of suppliers although I didn't actually experience the problem. The sometimes frustrating thing with any support issue is when the problem is only affecting one or just a few people but I do believe the Helix support always try to be helpful, quick and polite unlike some other suppliers.

I only ever get buffering on bt sport on soccer days. Otherwise it works perfect on my smart tv all.

Have you tried changing your DNS settings? ISP ones can make things worse. I changed mine around until i found the ones that work best. Still not perfect, but noticeably better.

I'm using this on a shield primarily, but also on a MiBox and Bravia (x90e). Initially I was using it with MrMC because it does refresh and resolution switching (down to 720p as well which allows the TV to upscale). But streaming seems to work more consistently with Kodi (on both the MiBox and Shield). Recently have jumped on IPTV extreme which also seems to work pretty reliably.

Not really a fix but I've had about 90% uptime after switching from Kodi/Web app to ProgDVB

Im using HH for almost 3 months now, and as I said in other threads I never had issues. I still have to understand why many of you have all these buffering issues when you have (probably) a powerful fiber line than mine. If you have less than 12mbps effective of speed I think you shouldn't do an IPTV service sub, just IMHO.

Use it with PP, or Kodi with PVR Simple Client and always set the EPG to not refresh during playback, never had issues. If you do not have a proper device or app preinstalled on your tv, then just buy a shield/chinese box for IPTV like the formuler.

By the way Helix with Vaders have one of the best customer supports available. So if you need help just contact them.
