BACKROUND
For starters and as noted in the title, this review is based solely on the use of US and sports channels only. That's all I watch or personally care about, and didn't bother testing outside that. So anything below is a direct reflection on that specific experience.
This sub was aimed primarily to be a backup to Vader Streams, although it also got a lot of primary time due to my desire to adequately test it and Vader's mid month melt down. TNT was run exclusively on either Kodi 17.6 (fresh install) or their APK, on wired 100mbps internet (which usually tested out in the 60-90mbps range with IPVanish running in the backround), and through my 2017 Nvidia Shield. While I don't consider myself Mr. Tech or anything, I am confident in my researching/tinkering ability enough that any trouble shooting done was both accurate and with every possibility exhausted to best isolate any non-TNT issue.
My viewing times/habits are as follows: Wed - Sat I'd watch maybe an hour or 2 of ESPNs/FOXSPORTSs/MLB/WWE channels in the afternoon before work, then another 3 hours afterwards (usually 11pm est on) with random movie channel surfing mixed in. Sun - Tues I have completely off, so TNT or Vader would be used or running in the backround most of those days. I watch all the UFC and WWE PPVs, plus Red Sox ST games that air on NESN. All in all I'd estimate that this review is based on roughly 75+ hours of testing.
SETUP/CUSTOMER SERVICE
Set up was pretty standard IPTV stuff, and aided by an extremely active Discord help chat. If you aren't the type that needs your hand held through the entire process all the info you need is readily available through a fairly extensive automated bot command with links system. Various device install walkthroughs, a M3U/EPG generator tool, direct links to supporting APKs, ect. That said there always seemed to be somebody live in there on a shift like schedule ready to help beyond that though.
Also to note while their website didn't offer the option to pay with paypal, I was given it there as well. Which then got activated in a matter of minutes.
EPG
APK - Mostly full and accurate US listings, but it's based on the same platform that all the other bigger IPTV providers (with the exception of GearsTV) are using in their apk. Which means like those others it is there as an added option, but something that is not very scroll friendly since it tends to jump all over the timeline. Leaving you constant scrolling just to get back to the current listing on the next channel down. YMMV, but I honestly didn't even bother with it much, nor do I ever use Vader's for the same reason.
Kodi - Point blank and outside it's fine population factor, I found the simple client setup to be very lacking. TNT doesn't offer an automated setup for it, or the option to customize the channel groups out that you don't want. Helping make the load time terrible too, which even on my Nvidia Shield would routinely get stuck on the VOD and take a good 1+ minute to finish.
That said, similar to Vader they do offer and seemed more centered around pushing their own Program Guide EPG. Which for those of you familiar with Vader is basically a direct copy of their version but with more polish put into it. It's actually pretty sweet looking, and wish I had tinkered around with it sooner then I had which was at the tail end of my sub. Seemed to work pretty well with what little time i got to spend with it though: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/382807866639253515/422399780732272640/Screenshot_329.png
Here is also a feature update tweak that was done to it today: http://teamnutz.info/guide/demo/Untitled.mp4
CHANNELS/QUALITY/RELIABILITY
Pretty standard to what everybody else if offering as far as US channels go nowadays. Everything I wanted with the seemingly rare across the board exception of NESN Plus was included. Most feeds were HD quality, although at times I did run into some very random SD feeds mixed in.
As far as overall channel stability as a whole goes, and after a rough first 2 days, I was pleasantly surprised given my previous experiences with notable cheaper services. Especially in their APK and once I made the base player switch to a free MX Player Pro install (night and day difference from using their default one btw). Buffering issues were minimal, and I actually ran in to less of them overall then I have with other more deemed "premium" providers here (like Fab for instance). Their ESPN feed in particular, which for me is basically my #1 watched channel and first in the testing line, was pretty on par to what I get through Vader. The 2 times I did run into any notable issues (once with ESPN and once with USA) I posted it in the Discord chat and it was fixed very shortly after too. No long wait, or a day going by before somebody even sees a ticket I put in with other providers.
Movie channels were a little more hit or miss then sporting channels were, but in the grander scheme of things that is more a universal issue with IPTV then anything else imo, and don't want it to come across as a "con" since for the most part I found them working adequately enough. If there is actually a provider out there who doesn't a stumble at least somewhat when it comes their stolen HBO/Cinemax/Showtime movie feeds, whether it be a wrong EPG listing or random buffering...I've yet to see or experience it.
As far as PPVs go I used TNT once for UFC 221, where it offered 4 different feeds. While I did need to cycle through all 4 of them at some point or another (4 total times), overall I gave it a passing grade. Links were all HD, and between the quick switches I wasn't really seeing any buffering and found it to be a more then adequate experience.
From a reliability standpoint I never never found TNT's service down once during the times I went to use it. In a month that also saw my main provider Vader go down at least..maybe 15 times total on a rough estimate I guess, I'm left scoring them some major points on that as well. TNT definitely had it's chances to step up to the plate this month and did so every time, with the exception of one movie I had been watching on Random_Showtime_X that wasn't fairing any better after the switch.
VALUE
While TNT does lack certain features various others bring to the table, such as catchup or free trials, I can't bring myself to penalize them at the $5/mo price point. Which is an excellent value considering I found their live TV to outperform some of the more popular options here that cost at least twice that. They also score additional value points for offering an additional stream at only $3.50 extra (although up from $2.50 when I bought mine), or $12/mo for 3 total.
Can't and won't comment on their VOD selection, since I never see the need for it in my IPTV services with easy access to everything through Kodi, but for those that are interested their list can be found here: http://teamnutz.info/TTV/vod_list.php
CONCLUSION
I'll start off here by stressing that your setup/player choice matters. If you are installing this on a "jailboken" Amazon firestick Kodi filled with god knows what, or are insisting on using subpar and fairly dated software like Perfect Player to watch your IPTV, a reset/switch to something more stable should always be trouble shooting step #2 (after doing an internet speed test, of course). Also, every individual user experience is always going to be subject to variables a review like this one can't adequately sum up. For instance I watch ESPN 30+ hours a month but don't ever watch Walking Dead live on AMC on Sunday night. Where as you might be the exact opposite, and thus subject to a concern I didn't test or could care less about. Generalized reviews and recommendations are helpful, but there ultimately is no substitute for firsthand experience with the details.
That said, at the $5/mo price point I'm going to put this down as a BUY . Especially if you are in the market for a more value oriented backup service, and which if you are using Vader as a primary like I am is pretty much a must nowadays. I do wish it had better simple client integration in Kodi, but that isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me either. Since unlike a lot of other APKs out there their's is fairly stable (again, with the switch to MX Player Pro). Plus I already have Vader eating up the simple client spot anyway, and simply installing them both on the same setup while then putting my most watched TNT channels in the favorites tab still makes everything fairly convenient.
Been subscribed a month so far, pretty good. UK Sky Sports channels often seem be off, but when mention on discord they are up in minutes.
Also great at adding VOD requests from discord.
