2 month review of ACE, Rocketstreams, Flawless and StreamHub.

by scordz

I will try to keep this short and simple. I was waiting for NFL and NHL season to kick start to see how these providers handled the additional load.

ACE TV: Not worth it at all. Buffered even during the non-peak times. Will not be renewing with them. RATING: 1/5

ROCKETSTREAMS: Good price. USA/Canadian content worked alright, UK section struggled. For the main sporting channels, wish they would have more "backup" sources like Flawless/Streamhub. It's nice to have FHD, HD and SD options. RATING: 1/5

FLAWLESS: Alight service. Handled the last couple of PPV's well. EPG is good. I do like that they provide FHD, HD and SD options. NFL has struggled every single week and every week, all they do is tell people to clear the cache and reset their router which is a crap excuse. RATING: 2.5/5

Streamhub: Seems like the same service/sources as Flawless. Support is good. Handled PPV well but NFL doesn't seem to get sorted out until halftime. At that point, what's the use? Takes about 24 hours to get access, not instant like Flawless. So if you want to sign up before a big event, make sure to do so at least a day or two beforehand. RATING: 2.5/5

Gears TV: Great service, however primarily focused on North American content. Good quality streams, no buffering for NFL/NHL/MLB or PPV. The Mayfair guide is alright. The only downfall is the price of $15/month for only one connection. Whereas other services will at least give you 2 or 3. RATING 4/5.

Vader Streams: Best service by far. Live TV sections for 22 countries. No buffering, slightly better quality than Gears TV. Most channels are 60 fps versus 30 for Gears. Even though it's a bit more cash, I believe Vaders allows up to 5 devices (2 different IPs). Great online web viewer. Matchcenter is an awesome touch and i don't mind the guide at all. The only IPTV service i believe that allows you to pick the server you want versus just auto detect. The odd time they face DDos attacks but they seem to sort those out pretty quick. RATING 4.5/5.

The Players Klub: For only $5, it's actually not bad. I will probably keep this service as my backup in case Vaders goes down for maintenance. Quality on the Canadian channels suck but the American channels work well, no buffering, NFL/PPV was good and NHL hasn't been too shabby either. Again, not the greatest service but can't beat the price. RATING 2/5.

CONCLUSION: Doesn't get much better than Vaders. If Gears expanded their international section and provided a multi-room option, it would compete.

Thanks.

Vader impressed me a lot these days~~ it added regional sport channels like CSN California...etc. and all Fox Sport Channels~~ they almost got all USA and UK Sport channels~~

Thank you for the reviews, I've only had three providers Ace, gears and epic. Ace was a complete waste of money, constant buffering to the point it was just unusable. Support said it was just me..

Gears has been a pretty good service, it kicks me back to the epl a couple times a day but not to the point that it is aggravating.

I have Epic running on another tv that the wife uses and she isn't coming in complaining to me about buffering or any other issues.. so it passes the wife test.

Trying several services has helped determined who uses the same sources and who performs better at high traffic times.

Vader by far is #1. Second is Gears TV, that's if you're only looking for sports as they don't have a ton of channels outside of the USA and it's roughly $5 less. But at this point Vader is well worth the extra cash.

Flawless and StreamHub are alright. They try to help but there's only so many times I can be told to reset my router.

scordz

So Flawless and Streamhub continue to have issues during high traffic times. ACE and Rocketstreams are useless. I am done with all of these providers when my subscription is up end of the month.

Updated Ratings: Flawless: 2.5/5 Streamhub Premium: 2/5 Ace: 1/5 Rocketstreams: 0/5

Vaders selection of channels, quality and speed is the best. Even their EPG in PVR Simple Client is good and accurate. Matchcenter is awesome and their web player is great.

However, I'm a big NHL fan and there is the odd game missing. For example, Sportsnet West is down for all providers, so i wasn't able to catch my Flames games this week.

Rating: 4.5/5

Signed up for Gears TV and even though they don't have as much selection of channels as Vader, their NHL centre ice package worked amazing this week, along with MLB and NFL last weekend. Flawless buffered most of the time. Not much for European content, so if you're a soccer fan, I would recommend Vader over Gears.

Rating: 4/5

Best IPTV service hands down. Been with them for months now. Not one Channel. Get every NFL game with no problems. Even get PPV UFC events. Streams are in great HD quality.

No, I'm in the states. Perhaps that is where the difference is. The service was bad enough that I felt ripped off. Support said it was just me, here's all the things I tried to get Ace to stop lagging so bad..

Wired and wireless With and without vpn Reset router over and over Many many reinstalls of software to the box Maybe my box is just junk.. purchased a new expensive box

Nothing I did made any difference, yet support said it was just me. All the while, Epic and Gears were running just fine on the same connection and hardware. I tried ace everyday for 30 days and it failed every time.

If it works for others, great! For me, it was a complete waste of time and money and there is only one chance to make a first impression, and this was mine.

I have used epic 6 months sub, smoothstreams 3 month sub, and now flawless 6 month sub.

Honestly, All three delivered. Content wise, flawless is better for me. Flawless so far has zero buffering. Epic only buffered when i hit play, and buffering took 2-5 seconds.

Smooth, just wasnt for me, the sports on smooth was great though. I loved it during hockey season.

VADERS STREAMS EARLY REVIEW: Signed up for Vader and compared channels with Flawless. I must say NHL, NFL and World Cup qualifiers all worked better on Vader. They still need to work out a few bugs within their kodi addon but at this point, it's worth the extra cash. RATING: 4.5/5

Totally agree about your ACE review. I got it because they were so hyped on here. Only for them to go down a month later. I even had them make sure I was connected to the closest server but that didn’t help.

I been on Gears as my primary and Smooth Streams as my sports back up. Gears has some issues from time to time but for the most part they have been great (3 months so far). Smooth Streams for sports is a little less reliable than gears but it has been a great back up. Only problem with smooth Streams is that their price is high for a back up so I’ll probably cancel their service during the summers.

Thanks for the reviews. Got a lot of ideas now. Used ACE for a month, not satisfied, buffers, VOD is the worst but most annoying is the loading time for each channel, so going to drop it.

Want to try Vader or Flawless, any preference guys? I need UK contents mostly & sports.

I am with Vaders for 3 weeks now, and by far the best I found out there, the bigger problem for me is that in Brazil it doesn't work, but with a VPN solved the problem right away. Love their matchcenter and the catch up is absolutely great.

scordz

Thanks aybessea. I've never heard of GE but I'll look into it.

Flawless was my top choice but they have struggled since NFL has kickstarted, so I'm hoping Vader can deliver. If so, I don't mind paying a bit more.

Also, Vaders Kodi guide (simple client) is working great for me and their MatchCenter section is awesome. Makes it simple to locate your game. The only item that isn't working is their own addon guide which is still in beta testing.

This weekends task is to test all the NHL games on Saturday and NFL on Sunday.

I would like to try vader too, any hint about where to get it pls.

bighero76

I think vaders is good for western channels but for international and vod it was the pits.

Lookijg forward to trying flawless , love all the unique options but at the end of the day i watch about 8 channels on a regular basis

scordz

Not sure if they have trials. I just paid for one month.

eikoida

Try out Epicstream, i was happily surprised. /r/Epicstream or some website online.

Best Premium IPTV Service at the moment. They are fairly a new company and do have some tech issues but resolve them fairly fast. Best channel list out of all. 20 a month cant beat it!!!!

Where can I get a vader tv trial? I'm really interés in trying out.

RCrow22

I signed up with GE a few weeks ago. Since then, they've switched their servers and addresses multiple times. Lately, I'm buffering quite badly and consistently when streaming from their servers on many of their channels. It doesn't seem to matter if I use a VPN or not (I'm on comcast and in the USA). Before all their changes and issues, the service was very good and pretty much buffer free. Just curious if your experiences with them have changed lately and if you've noticed more issues or not.

rotatorkuf

who did you get vaders through?

Suron12

Question for you Scords? Why would you rate rocketstreams a 1/5 if your review of them was good? Personally i don't care that much about sports, or international content. Do you think they would be good for US only? They are only $8 /stream, so i think thats very competitive.
