Rocket IPTV Review

by westernham2

Hi All,

This is my first post, on anything, ever. So go easy on me. I'm quite new to the IPTV world, I had ACE TV for the last month and I saw that it was recommended to try out a few suppliers before buying. Although there wasn't a huge amount wrong with ACE, I still wanted to try out some others. Anyway, long story short I've given Rocket IPTV a go.

Pros:

  • An accurate EPG is important to me, Rocket's EPG is on point and most importantly at the right time
  • There wasn't any buffering at all which was good and surprisingly
  • Quality of HD channels was actually HD, not like other suppliers
  • VOD is important to me, and although the classification could be better, i.e. new releases being in a separate section, the amount of movies and TV shows was good.
  • Good channel list, Sky movie and sport channels are important to me
  • The frame rate was good, I can't stand jerky streams

Cons:

  • No separate app like with ACE. Although this might not be big to some people, I like seeing what's on each channel without having to scroll through each one. Maybe STB Emu isn't the right program for me.
  • There was some sort of feedback noise when I first connected, it's come back since but then disappeared. Not sure what this is/was.
  • VPN not allowed when using MAC (might be my lack of understanding if this is important or not)

As a side note, not really a pro or con. Channel list is smaller than others, but I would rather have a smaller list for the sake of quality.

Overall I would give them an 8/10 . Solid supplier and I will be staying with them.

Try iptv simple client on kodi, i also use a theme/skin called Xperience1080. Epg looks great.

I stopped using STB Emulator in favour of my Dreamlink T1+, but I seem to recall that STBEmu does have a full EPG, it's just a bit tricky to get to it. Try playing around a bit. Of course, my memory might just be hazy.

Did not like Rocket at all. I give it 2/5 and that's being kind.

If you watch F1, have you been able to watch any of the Sky coverage this weekend?

In my personal experience. Rocket was a big buffering mess with hardly any HD channels and I have a few IPTV providers, so I'm not a newbie. But, each to their own, I guess.

Is there a channel list?

Setvnowlive.com

Best Premium IPTV Service at the moment. They are fairly a new company and do have some tech issues but resolve them fairly fast. Best channel list out of all. 20 a month cant beat it!!!!

Iview HD is a good IPTV, High Purity and Stability.Free trial for three days.

I think a lot of people miss one huge caveat when trying to find an iptv provider...your internet service provider, where you are, and your device all can change your experience. I’ve had 4 iptv provider and only had one buffer a lot. Just get a few providers for 1 month each. Check them out, then make a decision. Some providers are sooooo easy to set up on your device, some aren’t... just try and find what works for you. And above all remember you are paying 1/10th of what the average guy pays for cable/sat and no free ppv or mlb or nfl or what ever. Anyway just my 2cents.

Trying Rocket for a month and like it so far. I am using it on a Nvidia Shield box. One thing I do not like is that the menu (EPG) jumps around when I scroll down. One minute I am at 8am, a few ticks down and suddenly I am at 1:30am in the morning on the guide. Pretty frustrating. Any thoughts on this @Rocket-IPTV? u/rocket-iptv

I agree with the OP that one of the missing things that would make this a better experience is an IPTVCore apk. There are times I like to see a grid, and other times that I just want to see the channels/current shows.
