IPGuys. 2/5

by qmzx

I want to like IPGuys, I really do, only $10 a month and the best EPG I have ever seen! The channel selection is spot on and the VOD selection is current and of good quality. BUT... the buffering is terrible! I have yet to be able to watch even one show without constant stuttering! The issue is definitly not my internet, its fast and runs other companies just fine. Thats about it. If IPGuys would fic that buffering prblem they would be he top choice in my book but right now I'm using Netflix.

All these people that are resellers claiming there are no complaints are full of shit. I have guys for my parents on 100mbit and it constantly buffers.

I'm in California with Comcast as my provider. Pretty sure no throttling. I am using a Dreamlink T1 and it's using an Ethernet cable, for reseller I used IPRocket Apollo service. The issue is still there and it's bad, like every two-5 minutes bad.

Out of curiosity - what your internet speed?

And what are you using to connect to Ipguys? STB, MAG, etc

Although people say low bandwidth isn't required - I found 15MB minimum internet connection, prefer 25+ and hardwired instead of wifi is best.

Dedicated box also prefered however, STB works nice but underlying hardware/OS is important too.

We had a competitor of Ip Guys and with 15mb connection and wifi it would buffer depending on channel and since upgrading to 40+ we found it's quiet stable and we still use wifi. Used a dedicated box for a few weeks and it was also pretty stable with internet upgrade.

I'm from Toronto and have been using ipguys now for 3 months, I was using another provider where I bought my box from(xpl2000 buzz TV android box) and it was stable for the most part 720p ish no epg but when watching first episode of game of thrones it was unwatchable due to amount of people I assume on server. The next weekend I had ipguys running and GOT ran no problem. it's a very stable server, quality is 720p ish as well with working epg. Its now my one subscription where I know it's gonna work with a good selection of English channels USA and Canada but falls short on its UK offerings. I have 100 mbps cable internet connection for what it's worth.

I also have IPTV Express now while not nearly as stable as ipguys has the most clear HD channels I've seen on any sub that I've tried. And has a much deeper collection of USA Canada and UK channels which is all I'm gonna use plus the porn channels there are like 50 lmao.

Hope that helps.

Im thinking that maybe its the reseller? Someone else using a different service by them, iptvsubs, complained about buffering as well but i never had that problem when i used subs. I will try a hard reset of the Dreamlink and see if that works.

*My internet speed is 25mbps so it really shouldnt be that!

I dont get buffering on my mag 256 but channels do restart themselves from time to time or freeze altogether. My biggest gripe is getting channels fixed. Posted a few times on napster but nothing gets resolved.

I agree with the poster above me where the low bitrate and the average quality streams that IPGuys provide... i have never seen any lags in the channels. The only time i have ever had a issue was sometimes it would get stuck loading the channels and i would have to restart it. Good luck on getting the issue resolved. I suspect your ISP is doing some weird stuff like throttling connections to certain IP ranges that they know is IPTV related. I would try using a premium VPN service and see if you still experience lags.

Redevil1987

Honestly, I think each user have different experience. I don't have much buffering except some random ones.

sman06

Sky sports 2 (cricket) ia also down. Is anyway to report down channels?

Bhullarg24

Can you install IPGuys straight onto Kodi like most others or are there other steps involved?

I use Fab Host and it's great, but these guys have good local Canadian content.

I can't seem to find any good instructions.

I'm using an Nvidia Shield with Kodi 17.x

They are utter trash. They spend more money and time Shilling forums than server integrity. They were underwhelming at best , a downright scam at worse

stygian0708

Agreed, they were good for the first month I had them and then they went to complete utter shit. Just like right now once again 75% of the channels are down/offline and have been like this for almost a month now

BladeBoxTV

currently write for bladetv they have great subscriptions for IPTV no buffering video club full of content

Swizzcapz

I haven't experienced that buffering with IPGuys. I've been using it for the past 3 weeks.

fatlard

There is no way their service buffers. The low quality streams/low bitrate resolution from IPGuys should work well even on dialup/ISDN. If you got a 25 in screen or lower it IPGuys works best.

CryptoIPTV

That's weird. We can confirm that there is no buffering here with ipguys.

We also have a few hundred customers now, and zero complaints so far.

Is it possible your isp is throttling just ipguys? Where are you located?

trembz21

I've been a reseller of ipguys for about 6 months & I can assure you that the problem is on your side because none of my clients have problems with lag.
