After researching various IPTV options I decided to test FabIPTV and Necroiptv. The systems I was using were a low end Android Box and my Sony Xperia. My Internet was either a 100 Mbps broadband or my 3-4 Mbps network on the phone. I'm a complete IPTV noob, and was setting it up for a friend.

Both systems were easy to set up on Perfect Player. The first noticeable difference was that FabIPTV's EPG was far better, with far fewer gaps in the programme list compared to Necroiptv. The groups were also laid out far better in Fab. Even the Irish channels programme guides that were absent from the NecroIPTV list were there. I also noted that the Irish channels were the first group in FabIPTV. Not that I watch them, they are muck, but as I come from Ireland and entered it as my location when purchasing the FabIPTV trail, it would be nice to think that the EPG was actually based on an individuals location.

Setup was a little harder on NecroIPTV insofar as the adult channel option was confusing. I selected the no adult channels option but got them anyway. I really liked the fact I could just order the cheaper entertainment channel selection on FabIPTV as no one in the house watches sport

I did a lot of my testing on my phone as I was away from my friends house. Even with my crumby carrier FabIPTV shone through, with quite a few of the HD channels playing flawlessly. Not many channels refused to work. Not the case with NecroIPTV on both systems. Many of the channels on NecroIPTV suffered from the thirty second loop problem. Many more channels (but not an appreciable number admittedly) refused to work at all. Buffering was also significantly less on FabIPTV.

Overall the channel and boxset/film selection in FabIPTV also seemed far more comprehensive. FabIPTV also works out cheaper if you select only the entertainment or sports packages. The only plus for Necroiptv was the fact that you could have two devices connected simultaneously.

So, in closing, I reckon it's a hands down win for FabIPTV. I'll be recommending my friend uses that.
