I had done a fair bit of research to understand the pros/cons of the reviews available in this subreddit. Ace TV was the one that stood out in terms of availability of information, and comparing features.
I started my research with limited knowledge around IPTV providers and re-sellers. I noted how much I had to spend with each provider/reseller to search/answer common questions, configuration of my smart TV, multiple connections, video quality/speed, browser plug in, EPG and the level of activity from forums and search engine queries.
I applied the same thought process against the providers and the reviews mentioned, along with an 'uncertainty' factor (website layout/design, contact, payment options, payment plans, professionalism) against each candidate and I found Ace TV to be the most transparent, in the ordering/provisioning process, device configuring, multiple connection policy, channel lists, and overall support. The knowledge base helped outline a fair bit of this, even though I hardly utilized it at point of sign up because I've gathered the information throughout this process. The benefit is all the necessary information is available in one place instead of resorting to triangulating from different sources - a great value add for new or less technical users.
Access was provided immediately with quick response from technical and billing support over minor administration and account queries. Account management is detailed and flexible enough to allow you to upgrade/downgrade the terms including cancellation. It appears you can change/upgrade and cancel mid-term, although I would imagine contacting support first before utilizing this facility. It seems they have thought out common self-help account management tasks upfront.
Operational aspects - Video quality was good, switching between channels was smooth with no audio glitches observed. I am on a fast fiber connection (1000/500) so buffering is never an issue experienced - although I have not tested any live sports channels (which I was not interested in). 1080p streams are marked FHD, 720p in HD, VOD in 1080p AC3. The browser access works well on iOS through the standard xtream portal - If you have an Apple device this could be handy. In my research, I've noted that all providers use standard unsecured requests and playlists have credentials embeded as part of the link. Whilst this isn't standard approach due to security risk, I have not come across a provider that approached this differently. Ace is also quite explicit about detection of multiple users, I see this works both ways in highlighting if your account gets compromised or used by others.
Rather than considering this service as a white labeling product, I feel that the above observations are unique and stand out enough observations to differentiate Ace from the others. So far there have been no issues encountered, and will continue to update this post.
Pros:
- Easy to set up (with generous amount of documentation and how-to)
- Access provided instantly
- Support queries answered promptly
- Decent selection of on demand videos (VODs) and early screening
- Good value with different payment terms (try the 24 hour trial to test drive)
- Clear terms on multiple connections and usage
Areas of opportunity or improvement:
- Some radio channels or differentiation factors from others/AU or NZ region specific channels would make the offering more attractive
- Security of streams and playlists to differentiate from other providers
Note that I didn't even end up requesting for a trial period and subscribed upfront based my comfort level. I found other reviews that helped me come to this conclusion - If you found this review useful and would like to give them a try, please use my link https://ace-tv.co.uk/aff.php?aff=211 which I would sincerely appreciate, otherwise without regrets, the standard page is https://ace-tv.co.uk
Where's the channel list?
